Usenet Death Penalty

The final step, when a poster refuses to stop abusing the austin.* newsgroups is the imposition of a Usenet Death Penalty (UDP).

A Usenet Death Penalty (UDP) means that the austin.* abuse 'bot watches for a certain class postings. If any such postings occur, the 'bot automatically issues advisory net-abuse cancelations against them. This means that all news servers that choose to honor these advisory cancelations will discard all postings covered by the UDP.

A UDP is a both a corrective and a punitive measure. It is corrective in that it eliminates a certain class of abuse from the austin.* newsgroups. It is punitive in that the poster is denied access until they modify their behavior appropriately. This, of course, applies only to those news servers that choose to accept the advisory cancelations.

Here is a report of all the UDP actions that currently exist in the austin.* newsgroups.

If your postings currently are under UDP, please notify <chip@unicom.com> when you decide to terminate the abusive behavior so that the UDP can be rescinded. If you have any questions or concerns about these actions, please contact <chip@unicom.com>.

If you are not satisfied with my response, then you should post your appeal to the austin.usenet.config newsgroup. All UDP actions are contingent on the support of the participants in that group.
